January Ornament for 2009 Christmas Challenge

I finished my first ornament for the 2009 Christmas Challenge Blog!!!  It's an ornament from the August 2008 Just Cross Stitch Ornament Preview Issue.  I have wanted to do this ornament since I first laid eyes on it and now it's finished.  It stitched it on 28ct. Natural Linen using DMC floss and my absolutely fav. Crescent Color Deep Fennel.  Now on to February's Ornie!

  1. You requested help with picture taking on the Tiny Treasures blog. If you are using a digital camera all you really need to do is set the "close up" feature. Most cameras have a button that scrolls through a series of settings (which none of ever learn to use) but the one setting you do want to learn is the close up feature. It is most often represented in the window by a FLOWER symbol (meaning take a close up of a flower), the "far away" feature has a mountain symbol. I get really good pictures and these are the only two symbols I know anything about at all. If you set the close up feature then put the camera about 8 to 12 inches from your ornament, you'll get a really nice picture which you'll need to downsize with your photo program (mine come out like 2500 pixels wide sometimes). Hope this help, e-mail if I can make this more clear for you.
